Localization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Neyba

During an event held in the auditorium of the municipality of Neyba town hall, the members of the SDG Commission shared their experience in applying the knowledge and tools gained during the capacity-building process on SDGs and the 2030 Agenda.

The event was attended by members of the Municipal Development Council, representatives from Neighborhood Committees, and other local entities who seized the opportunity to discuss the benefits offered by Bahoruco as a province, particularly in terms of water resources. In recent years, the municipality of Neiba has consistently experienced population growth, leading to an increased demand for more and better services, especially water.

The monitoring committees for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been established by the BPP project in target municipalities with the aim of integrating the SDGs into the vision and territorial development planning, evaluating the implementation of public policies and private initiatives, and their impact on the SDGs in their respective regions.

We would like to remind you that the implementation of the Biodiversity in Productive Landscapes (BPP) project is aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  •  End of poverty
  • Gender equality
  • Clean water and sanitation
  • Sustainable cities and communities
  • Life and terrestrial ecosystems
