As part of the good governance of the Biodiversity in Productive Landscapes project, the third meeting of the Advisory Committee was held, with the objective of learning about the current status of the project, progress, achievements and vision for the future, as well as strategies for the sustainability of actions and processes.
With the implementation of this project, our institutions are aligning their perspectives towards a shared horizon in the environmental, social, productive and economic spheres,” said Federico Franco, Vice Minister of Protected Areas and Biodiversity of the Ministry of the Environment, during his speech.
Among the main results presented were: 9,538.68 ha of coffee/cocoa agroforestry systems, 3,696.7 ha of forest maintained or increased, 57,852 hectares of productive mountain landscapes covered by improved planning and governance frameworks, 1,564 producers trained, 5,225 indirect beneficiaries, among others.
Representatives of UNDP, FAO, INDOCAFE, the Directorate of Land Management of the MEPyD, the Vice Ministries of Forest Resources, Protected Areas and Biodiversity, and Climate Change and Sustainability, as well as the Directorate of Planning of the Ministry of Environment, the National Cocoa Commission, and the Cocoa Department of the Ministry of Agriculture participated in this 3rd meeting of the BPP Project Advisory Committee.
